I'm playing on Windows 11 but WASD doesn't work and nor does the arrows, any fix?

are there any AutoHotKey scripts running cuz they can bind those keys to other ones

make sure you useing  English keyboard . if are you  idk

I find the constant window-shrinking annoying, but challenging. A great out-of-the-box game, would be great if it actually got listed on Steam.

(-1)

This should be put on steam for 3 dollars

well yeah but right now its just get circles and buy upgrades to get more circles and with only 4 bosses
personally i would add like 8 or even 10 bosses if i was the creator of the game then release it to steam

also i sent this comment while windowkill was running

yes...  4 bosses... only 4... not a 5th at all..

Also you are aware this game was made 72 days ago, with an update being made 2 days ago?

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

wtf con que motor se creo este juego???

What game engine did you use to make this?

(+1)

according to author’s reddit post they are using Godot Game Engine

(+1)

it feels like every innovative game uses godot nowadays.

(+1)

have to say, this is one of the best indie games ive played this year. i got pretty far and it could use more boss varieties, but it was tons of fun

(1 edit)

may i ask why your window header is green

(+1)

You know how in the customization tab in windows settings there's something like accent color or something like that? For default it's blue, but if someome doesn't like blue, he can change it. For example, I have purple-ish color (I'm a boi who likes pink)

I haven't seen anyone show this cool feature yet but, there's a secret boss that when you kill, you "win" and get this skin. as for how to get to that secret boss I have no clue how I did it. But I will figure it out.

(-2)

FIGURE IT OUT AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE I WANNA DO IT RRRAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

(+2)

Who stole your sandwich?

who stole my sandwich? what kind of question is that? i have no idea who or why someone stole my sandwich.

I did. I'll post another comment so there's a more up to to date thing

How do I move up and down? I'm trying to use WASD and the arrow keys like the controls say but I can only move side to side.

Is my game broken or is there no way to go up and down?

i think your game is broken

Do u have any AutoHotkey scripts? If so, turn them off

its not only

(-2)

it says its dangures i cant play it

huh

(+1)

Just click more info and run anyway. It's just your PC seeing this type of program for the first type.

1 hour of this

yes

(-1)

how do i solve the "dangerous software" on windows

(+1)

Click "more info", then "run anyway".

(+1)(-1)

does anyone know why it is seen as a dangerous software

(-1)

yeah same

(-1)

do you know if it is safe?

(-1)

ITS OBVIOUSLY SAFE YA DINGUS WHY WOULD SOMEBODY POST A VIRUS ON ITCH.IO

People post viruses everywhere. For anyone wondering, you can tell it's unlikely to be malicious because this software
- Has been here a long time
- is very popular
Those don't work for everything (Facebook is proven spyware) but it does mean that it's unlikely to be bad.

(1 edit) (+1)

Mostly anything that's author is unrecognized is considered dangerous by Windows. If anything, I hands down 98.7% doubt that this fantastic game is dangerous to your computer.

yeah

More info > run anyway

Yeah, most likely either the signature expired, or it wasn't signed to begin with. This is very common for indie software - the fee to get the signature key isn't seen as worth it for a lot of indie windows devs. (I say windows bc they won't release a linux or mac version for some reason despite literally using Godot)

More info > run anyway

anyone got any tips, because i usually die mid-spiker or after it

(+1)(-1)

do you know why it says it is a dangerous software or is that just me

(+1)

why are you replying to me for that, that has nothing to do with what i want

(+1)

I read this like you were snapping at them, but its for a valid reason.

I just strafe a lot, so they dont give me much problems.

superb

  1. git gud

not as superb

Game is genuinely really fun!! So many stimulating mini shapes, challenging bosses, that ANNOYING blue circle, I had a blast with the whole thing!! it's a really unique idea too w/ the windows, i love bullet hell games and this might be one of my favs next to jsab,, can't wait for more windowkill updates!1!

my current score btw lol

(1 edit)

great game but i wish it would get harder over time instead of easier and laggier. My game crashed when i let my screen get rlly small before using the bellow ability at level 7. for example  the points you gain could change color when they're worth more instead of get bigger which i assume would make the game run better.

Honestly a really fun game! The one big suggestion is the boss window should probably be hidden instead of destroyed, as it was causing some issues on my setup (which are like 90% my software setup's fault, as it was doing what it is supposed to do to windows and tiling them :P )

Although I couldn't figure out why Peer wanted to be in a specific place or what Bellow did at all! I also didn't hear any music, which confuses me, but oh well

peer lets you see studff outside of your window but boss windows is basicly just temporary peer

also peer on level 2 and higher drops healing items

and bellow enlarges your window to the maximum size for a short period of time

bellow on level 2 and higher pushes enemies away too

Ohh okay, I just figured that peer would do something if I put it where it wanted. Thanks for the tip about raising their levels though, I thought the game was over after doing three bosses XD

Thanks ^v^

I was left pretty sad cuz my PC doesn't support OpenGL. Is there any possible way to make it not require OpenGL? If yes, then I would be happy to know

(please i really want to play this game)

(2 edits)

Your computer most certainly supports OpenGL, although how far that support goes is... awful to check on windows (The best I'm seeing online is a third party piece of kit named "OpenGL Extensions Viewer" which will tell you the "Version" (That is, the "minimum supported version" because OpenGL is... weirdly structured for those not in the know).

EDIT: The game requires only opengl 3 (presumably .0, that's up to godot), and even then only if you run the .bat. If you just run the exe it should work fine!

EDIT2: After testing it, if absolutely nothing else works, you could grab a livecd copy of ubuntu or debian or whatever and run the game in that (either directly or in a VM or what have you, but directly is probably easier to set up)

(1 edit)

Yeah, my computer must support OpenGL, the problem is I dont know how to run OpenGL 3 or atleast how to implement it into my pc (sorry for my bad english). Imma try running it in ubuntu. Im gonna update this depending on how it goes

Tysm

EDIT: Nothin. Thanks so much for the advice. Its really appreciated.

Unfortunately, if your graphics card doesn't support a higher feature set of opengl, there's not *too* much you can do, at least with how windows drivers work. On linux at least you could force software rendering, which would be a bit slow, but supports everything (hence the ubuntu suggestion)

Tysm dude! U have been helping me these days, even if I cant run it, I appreciate you replying trying to find a way to run the game. Have a nice day

If you're on linux, get mesa. If you're on Windows, get mesa and go through some pain to get it working - but it is possible. It might work on other OS-es perhaps maybe.

Mesa translates graphics apis, (OpenGL1,2,3, Vulkan, older DX, and more) into lower-level apis your drivers _do_ support.

Good luck. There might be an online guide.

How do i search for mesa? Like... mesa app or smth?

I see in other comments you're on Ubuntu. Just look up "set up mesa drivers ubuntu" and you should get pretty good results. Likely they are already installed, but perhaps they aren't on your system.

This would be amazing as a purchasable game on a store (like steam and epic games) and could be cool to have multiplayer

(+2)

it is a purchasable game on a store, you can put down money through itch and run the game through itch's launcher (or even load it into steam as a non-steam game)!

It doesn't need to be on steam to be good :P

I'm not saying that "it's bad because its not on steam", also idk if it would be easy to add but multiplayer would be cool

its gonna be on steam now and have multiplayer

Wonderfully unique gameplay. Definitely would love to buy this game! Pitched in $5 to help the developer! I actually got pretty far!

Absolutely awesome game. It's the exact kind of thing to do when bored, and it requires skill too, though. i like how the smile is a reference to the "YOU ARE AN IDIOT" thing also

Will this work if downloaded on chromebook

No. Chromebooks require specific support that the dev doesn't provide. Further, Chromebooks are based on Linux and this app doesn't even "support" Linux. Normally Chromebook native apps can use web-based APIs, but in this case, where it's a game inside your Desktop Environment, it isn't possible from within the web browser. It might be doable, but they'd have to go far out of their way.

(1 edit)

FPS is for the weak, also here is my record

This game is fun :D

(-1)
whats this?
(+2)

Usually virus total gives false positives. You so it being detected as a trojan is most likely just a false positive.

when a boss spawns the shop stops working

(1 edit)

Wow, this is amazing! There's an issue with the music though, it keeps stuttering, which is a shame because the music is very nice.

Edit: actually after a while I stopped having the sound stutter so idk.

(+1)(-1)

yo please keep updating this game and not have it be a one time project, this game would be exponentially better if you added some form of PERMA PROGRESSION (e.g. in each run you get a score system/currency and after the run you are able to use said currency to buy permanent upgrades like HP or damage, you could do this by adding a menu at the start of the game) as right now it has little replay value.

another thing that would be awesome is that for the smiley boss you make it so the dudes head is ALWAYS on top of other tabs, its kinda annoying when i just cant damage him because my main tab is overlapping his head :(

and uh yeah my best run so far is 56 minutes survived and late game kinda sucks because you just be taking damage randomly even if i hard focus on dodging its basically impossible, this makes your hp constantly drain and forces you to look for the HP upgrades in the shop or spend your stars on HP which prevents you from actually getting stronger - this can once again be fixed by adding perma progression or just making the upgrades more impactful

you could add loads more upgrades and get hella creative with them, this game has so much potential. sadly rn a lot of the upgrades are kinda wack and dont actually have a big impact, only when you stack them loads. i would suggest buffing some upgrades (homing, freeze, fire rate, etc) or add a way to level up the upgrades/unlock new upgrades as perma progression

and uh yeah thats all i have to say this game is hella cool and you could get so creative with it, this has so much potential and if you spend a lot of time on this project you could probably make this into a proper fleshed out game that could reach a large audience :) keep up the good work

itd be really cool to add some sort of progression system. very cool game !

It sort of does, perhaps not exactly what you had in mind. It has an awesome "shop" feature.

game approved

very good game ngl

Crashing on win11, ryzen 5 7640HS using integrated graphics, opengl

(-1)

opengl instead of vulkan

(+2)

I wish there was Linux support.

(1 edit) (-1)

then use a virtualbox. but if you're on ubuntu the virtualbox is in-built into it

(1 edit) (-1)

that'd be a horrible user experience. virtual machines can't even run on most hardware without BIOS tweaks.

use wine instead. It translates Windows syscalls into Linux syscalls without any emulation or virtualization, so is much faster. Further, wine allows the app's windows to open like they are native windows.

(1 edit)

bro i know there are other options i just forgot about it dude💀💀💀

i also have linux [on my laptop] and i installed wine and idk how tf do i use it, is it just like automatically enabled?

(1 edit)

You'll have to launch it through wine - or though something like lutris that will manage wine for you. It's not easy, and that's why i'm upset there isn't a linux build yet.

---
There's a linux build now btw.

there's a linux build now. just do that

(2 edits)

I agree.

In the meantime, I used itch as a downloader, and Lutris to run the app from inside wine. That should be fairly easy to set up and debug -I've been doing it this way myself.
---

There's a linux build now btw.

there is now!

(2 edits) (+3)(-4)

It's sad that this game doesn't doesn't distribute a Linux binary - especially sad since it's the exact same amount of effort to export for Linux as Windows when you're using Godot. I bet it'd even run better on Linux than it would Windows. For now - I'm stuck with Wine.

EDIT: There's a linux build now

same with me

you should check out the linux build

i know but it wasn't there originally (btw i got the game on steam the day it released)

i saw many videos about it but sadly i cant play it

use the .bat it just works on lower end computers

still same error sadly

(+1)

love the game! it's cool to see that you're using godot too lol

Coooool game

(+2)

I really want to like this game; however, the balancing leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the powerups in the game feel like they have little to no impact in battle. for example:
-Homing is completely useless by all metrics. In early levels it's completely negligible and it's extremely hard to notice if it even does anything
-Fire Rate feels extremely underpowered, early it makes no difference, and it feels more like a long-term investment then an actual good powerup itself
-Freeze is only really good if you have Pierce, if not then it's useless

Another problem (though this is just my opinion) is that the powerups are kind of generic as well. They do their job I guess but it'd be nice to see a lot more variety in powerups than the choices we have now.

It also feels like the biggest enemy is really the Shop. Early-game a majority of your time is spent in the Shop to get anything more impactful as you're in a race against time before the first boss drops. It sounds pretty engaging in text, however in execution you're it's a lot of rerolling useless powerups which takes up a lot of your money fast. (Rerolling also costs more each time) In addition, the Shop can show multiple of the same item so if it's too expensive early (multi-shot lvl 2) or not the best then you need to waste more points in rerolling. All of this in the small span before the boss spawns.

Don't get me wrong I think this game is extremely creative, it does have a lot of aspects that would be fun if not for the balance. It's not really the enemies that are the problem, it's more just these underpowered powerups that negatively impacts the fun of the game.

thank for the information.

this needs to be an update

goty

(1 edit)

can u make a version for people without opengl 3 cuz i can run cuz of recent graphic card changes , good game tho

godot (the game engine used) doesn't support older graphics api so you're out of choices

(1 edit)

Last I checked, Godot supports WebGL, OpenGL 2, OpenGL 3 and Vulkan. I think it supports the android *gl thing as well. The trick is that the gamedev has to tell Godot which ones to support, and it's not very convenient. (he's put in the work though - there's a .bat script)

Further resarch shows you're right OpenGL 2 is no longer supported.

it does yes, I know for OpenGL 3.0 and Vulkan, dunno about OGL 2.0 though, Godot should really add proper settings for it

(+1)

use an .bat version if you're computer sucks (is in the folder)

This is really fantastic.
