Very fun game, but gets quite repetitive at the later stages. My poor pc clocked in at 1 FPS when firing.
Incredible concept, very clever!
Love the breakcore music, very vibey and enjoyable.
The best strategy is upgrading Bellow as much as possible. A single blow with high level Bellow can neutralize anything and everything in the whole monitor. Basically the almighty push, and the cooldown time is very short later on. That was my main tactic, but firing is necessary for bosses, so it's basically a big flashy slideshow.
Simply gave up, I got quite bored. Don't get me wrong the game is very fun and clever, but it is repetitive.
The bosses are magnificent. I love the idea of Wyrm and Smiley.
Game gets a 9/10 from me. Great idea, like the style, the vibe, and overall gameplay, but gets repetitive and PC destroying later on, which is the limiting factor.
It starts, but every time I play it the game crashes after a couple seconds. I've tried the bat file as well, that one just stalls after a couple seconds and then crashes. Can anyone help?
Firstly, I would like to just praise the game concept. I love playing shooters and bullet hell games, and this might just take the crown for the coolest one. I played around 3 rounds in total, one lasting almost an hour and a half, and I have a collected some critiques, and things that I enjoyed:
Bad things:
1. The game needs more optimization. I luckily have a pretty beefy computer (RTX 3060, Intel i7-12700K, and 16 gigs of DDR5 ram), but after a certain point my average frame rate went from well above 1000 fps, all the way down to ~30, with lows of 10. The main contributor was the money sitting on the floor, as I had level 32 wealth, and the money just piled up. Additionally the green bubble enemies contributed towards lowering frames. Mabey simply decreasing the number of money on the ground, and reducing the number of green guys that spilt would help with that.
2. Endgame needs major work. The first 30 minutes feel very clean and enjoyable, but it gets to a point where the upgrades are too overpowered and it gets to be too easy. Increasing the difficulty of enemies in a different way, or adding new enemies and specific time chapters might be a way to improve this.
3. The game needs to be more balanced. I think that the cost scaling for upgrades is really good, especially with things as powerful as multi-shot, but with the addition of manifest (which I actually really thought worked well), you could easily by pass that cost increase, and buy both multi-shot and health. Around the hour mark of one of my runs, health upgrades were 5,000,000 and multi-shot was 500,000, I could just bypass saving up for that by spending stars. A simple fix would be to just limit how many of each of the upgrades you can spend stars on. So maybe only 3 times can you use stars for multi-shot, or make the stars needed to upgrade grow exponentially. Additionally, I loved the other upgrades you could buy with stars, but out of the three (the one that increased your screen size for a time, the one that drained heath in a box, and the one that allowed to see a bit of the screen away from you) only the one that increased screen size was viable, as the other two were too technical or underpowered. I would love to see some more viable ones, though the ideas for the other two were interesting. Mabey just buffing them or making them automatically move around to track enemies would help.
4. Some of the visuals need to be modified. Set distinct colors to the enemies bullets and yours so you won't mix up what you need to dodge. Some bosses shot white bullets, other shot green and other things like that.
Good things:
1. I absolutely loved the boss design, there were just enough unique bosses to stay interesting, but not too many so I could remember how to beat each one. All of the bosses I would give 5 stars to, except I would say for the smiley face boss, having the setting for it to stay the top window should be toggled by default.
2. The graphical design was really amazing, loved the style and execution of it.
3. Overall the game was really nice to play, felt very polished and enjoyable to stick with for nearly one and a half hours.
Final notes:
I just want to say that the game in the current state is absolutely amazing, and with some slight changes it could easily place in my top games. Something like permanent upgrades outside of the main game to keep me plaguing again and again. I really hope to see the game on steam, and would absolutely encourage anyone who has not picked it up to try it. 5 star A+ game, keep up the good work.
This game is fun, but the moment the Wyrm spawns my computer completely locks up and I have to force restart it to use it again. It's probably because I'm playing this on Linux through Bottles, but I don't really have any other choice unfortunately.
You might've seen me send this earlier but I'm re-commenting to say that I've figured it out and this is a guide to officially "beat" the game. Spoilers ig lol
So to begin with, you're going to need every perk: Bellow, Drain, and Peer. Both the Peer window and Drain window are movable, and there are indicators of where they need to be moved (Drain has a slight chip on the side of it, and Peer's eye). You can open shop to move them around easily. When moved to the correct locations (You'll know it when you see it), the windows should now say Peer! & Drain! respectively. You'll also notice that Peer! looks different.
When the previous steps are done, stand inside of Peer!'s eye and it should start glowing and the iris should spin. At this stage, use Bellow. A window should appear now, with a box. Press the box and you should have a new bullet type. Charge your new bullet to the max and release at a wall, it should break.
From here, I don't have screenshots for it.
The secret boss is very tough, you will need more than atleast 60 health for your first time if you're averagely skilled. Furthermore, the skill's you have bought will all be completely useless like multishot, all except for Speed, Max Health, Splash damage and Wealth pretty much. Further furthermore, All of these become null when you activate the final boss except for your speed and max health.
Have fun with the ultimate form of Smiley, I'm gonna try to figure out if there's more secret bosses!
- The smiley face boss is a fun idea, but after getting stronger, it becomes kinda annoying. - I think there should be a description of what each perk does. I only pick the below perk because the others seem useless compared to it and manifesting (correct me if I'm wrong). - Also, the only upgrades worth manifesting seem to be wealth (at the start) and multi shot. - There could be an upgrade or perk that increases the coin pickup range.
Bellow is the best first pick due to Wyrm being the guaranteed second boss, but the best perk is actually Peer in general.
Below gives you more area, and in later stages it pushes enemies away and even damages them.
Drain drains health in an area, duh, becoming larger at later stages.
Peer does nothing at the first stage, but from stage 2+ it gives healing items, generating them faster at later stages which basically means you don't need to buy heal. Pair that with Bellow and you can survive forever
There is something you can do with all 3, just take a good look at where the eye is pointing, and where the chip on the red box is pointing. You'll figure it out pretty quickly from there I assume.
this game is amazing beyond comprehension!! I just had a suggestion to add some modes maybe idk perhaps a mode where you keep all your upgrades and or perks even if you lose which I personally really want or modes of various difficulties etc it's just an idea

Huh!? How do you fight Omega smiley?

Works flawlessly on linux too!
how did you get it working on linux?
at the time, likely wine or proton, but there's a native version too now
It starts, but every time I play it the game crashes after a couple seconds. I've tried the bat file as well, that one just stalls after a couple seconds and then crashes. Can anyone help?

could you maybe show the source code so we know that its not a virus and coders can learn

I did it by accident :
is this rare ? i got the same item 3 times and its start glowing stars
When you get 3 items in a row, the item becomes half price.
It's not as uncommon as you think when you play long enough
nice
I really like the concept of this game.

idk mabye you need a windows emulator
yeah, WINE works on mac. proton does as well
is it on window 10????
i need a response
Try for urself
just your usual day in the life of a windowkill player
btw i "wonder" what that chip in the border of the drain window means
does it work on window 10
and how much is the Stockag
it should work on windows 10
i use windows 11 and was able to play a game for windows 10 so i think it should
im using windows 11 and it work
Sure, but i3 makes a bit of a mess of it, since the windows aren't automatically tagged as floating :P
when the upgrades match and they turn gold, what does that do?
i think they all half in price
This is so creative! I love ideas you put into this wonderful game. It's great for killing free time
this game is amazing beyond comprehension!!
I just had a suggestion to add some modes maybe idk
perhaps a mode where you keep all your upgrades and or perks even if you lose which I personally really want
or modes of various difficulties etc it's just an idea
THIS GAME IS SO ADDICTING GRAHHHHH!!1!
SDJKFGH I love this game man, it's just so fun
I'm playing on Windows 11 but WASD doesn't work and nor does the arrows, any fix?
are there any AutoHotKey scripts running cuz they can bind those keys to other ones
make sure you useing English keyboard . if are you idk
I find the constant window-shrinking annoying, but challenging. A great out-of-the-box game, would be great if it actually got listed on Steam.
