hi! I wanted to do a small update to add mobile support, but it also includes some basic balancing changes and such. The original Ludum Dare version is still available to play here

Changes

  • added mobile support
    • buttons appear on the left that you can press
    • tapping after dying allows you to restart
  • “hide” behaves differently, it now keeps the line in-tact but invulnerable. essentially allowing you to stop and cover, without forcing you to shoot
  • “dash” now calculates damage differently. every segment of a segmented line now calculates its damage based on the total spanning length of all its segments (so, essentially as if the break in the line didnt exist. except because this creates multiple hitboxes, it potentially doubles damage if you can hit the same enemy twice)
  • “trigger” now costs energy to use
  • reduced energy regain speed, and added a cooldown after using energy before this starts up
  • heavily reduced enemy invuln timer
  • reduced ramp scaling of enemy spawn rates
  • reduced how quickly an enemy can begin firing after spawning
  • the next enemy now spawns immediately if none are present
  • enemy spawn timer is now slightly randomized
  • changed the default bindings to use wasd
  • added ability indicators on the left
    • these also act as buttons you can press, mostly intended for mobile control
    • these indicators also show how much energy is needed before the ability recharges
  • added keyboard input for shop selection
